ORGANIC OR NON-ORGANIC ORANGES. WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?

Sicily, thanks to its favorable climate, is one of the largest producers of oranges in the world.

But not all oranges are the same. The properties of citrus fruits depend on several factors of production and cultivation. Among the most common methods of cultivation are the traditional one that involves the use of chemicals and the biological one that instead involves only the use of natural substances.

But is there a difference between an organic and a conventional orange? Absolutely yes, the nutritional values of organic orange are much higher, and that is why more and more people choose organic, let's see in detail why

Organic oranges are grown following the European protocols of organic farming which in simple words means higher quality of the product and respect for the environment, the earth, man and animals.

Among the key points of organic farming, in fact, there are both the rejection for all those synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides, herbicides or insecticides, as well as the rejection for forced ripening, while a natural approach is favored, letting the fruit grow at its own pace and without help from harmful and toxic products.

This means that organic oranges are a quality product, not only in terms of taste, their flavor is in fact much more intense and flavorful, but also in terms of nutrients.

According to the report released at the Great Lakes Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society condotto

We investigate the reasons why organic oranges, in addition to being delicious, are much richer in nutrients than non-organic oranges.. Not only vitamin C, in fact, in organic orange the greatest nutritional values are given by different substances, including: mineral salts, potassium, vitamin A and B9, calcium, iron and sodium.

In this context Sangaspano was among the pioneers of organic farming that he introduced to the company for over 25 years . In addition, the Gaspanella di Sangaspano orange is cultivated in the Nordi of Sicily, in the Milazzo area, which according to the latest international rankings is the area with the greatest biodiversity in Italy.

Finally, the absolute freshness of Sangaspano citrus fruits to customers is guaranteed by the sales protocol that provides about 48 hours between harvesting from our trees to delivery home.
